Postpostcards

Series of computer-generated postcards that are produced outside of the referenced place. They are a memento of a virtual, and not a real, journey, which is why the first deformation takes place at the level of the role played by a postcard. The second deformation occurs in the images themselves, because the images on postcards, created with the use of Google, from a combination of a nets of satellite photographies, become inaccurate, sometimes subtly, and sometimes distinctly deforming the designations of real places.

For activities in Crete, Malta, Corsica, Sardinia, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Georgia, Chile and Iceland, the cards were taken to the places they referred to. Some of them were sent to addressees as part of the mail-art campaign, some remained on the spot and were placed in postcard stands.

12 Postpostcards were specially prepared, sent as part of a mail-art campaign and presented at the Entropia on (a) line / Entropia na linii exhibition at the Entropia Gallery in Wrocław, 2021.
