The project explores the founding myth of Zlín – a factory-city conceived by the Bata corporation as a model of modernity and order. Archival photographs of the city and its factory have been digitally altered, infusing the rigid structure of this modernist utopia with a touch of absurdity. These transformed images were then transferred onto film and realized using the cyanotype process, generating a dialogue between digital manipulation and the tangible materiality of the analog image, and perhaps giving a certain plausibility to the absurd scenario thus created.
